I Think Player expertise should be collected so say I start with 0 and I decide to make drugs every 1 year you would gain a experience point this is how I would Calculate it.
Manufacturing
Years Manufacturing +
Training level +
Tech level in industry+
Units Produced+
Market Share =
Retail
Years Retailing+
Units sold+
Market share+
Training Level=
Farming
Years Farming+
Training Level+
Units Produced+
Market share=
R&D
Years Researching+
Tech Level+
Training Level+
Number Of breakthroughs=
and so on for other areas . If you Stop in one area for a number of years you would go to legacy Status if you have over 50 Experience points in that industry. Say I have 76 experience points in drug manufacturing and stop it would drop to 2.5 points every year I'm not in that field it would stop at 25 points and lock in as a legacy industry. If I become active in that industry again I can collect points quicker up to the point I was until I went dormant in that industry.
Legacy Manufacturing
Legacy Bonus +
Years Manufacturing +
Training level +
Tech level in industry+
Units Produced+
Market Share =
This would allow the landscape to keep changing depending on what industries are being focused on. What do others think ?
